Spiritual Director

Marc Meyers

Marcus Meyers studied photography and film at Houston’s acclaimed High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and continued his education at The University of Texas Health Science Center, Baylor College of Medicine, and The Texas Research Institute of Mental Sciences. Marc relocated to Austin, TX, where his addiction overcame his professional career and he sought treatment. After getting Sober in 1985, Marc opened his studio in Austin, where he enjoyed success as a portrait, wedding, and commercial, advertising photographer for many years. In 1999, Marc joined the automotive industry in finance and insurance management, working for several local dealerships. Marc continues to enjoy working as a photographer and writer in the Texas Hill Country.  The one constant in Marc’s life, other than his family, has been his commitment to his recovery and the 12-step fellowships in the Austin area. Marc served on the Board of Directors of Austin Recovery from 2004 until 2008 and has been of service to the 12-step communities for the past 41 years. Marc was the founding partner of Personal Responsibility Recovery and guided the vision of our treatment facility while assembling a team of dedicated professionals who have built one of the premier substance use programs in Texas. After realizing the need for accessibility to high-quality treatment for everyone and not just those who could afford it, Marc met with his investors, team members, and mentors and founded PRRecovery.org to continue where Austin Recovery left off. He is eternally grateful to our staff and our board of directors as PRR moves to the next stage of our vision.
